i just bought a JD 112 today(square fender) and where the data tag is suppose to be its missing,is there another way to tell what year my machine is?it does have a kohler engine, any info would be apreciated
Pictures would help as there were minor differences from year to year. It would take to longer to write them out be are easily seen to people who have played with 112s. Welcome to WFM. Roger
Cast iron brake pedal- 68-71. Just 1 rubber pedal-1972. 2 rubber pedals 73 or 74. Them lever type hood hinges 68-71. Flat spoke steering wheel early 68. 1" front spindles 72-74.
72 ,73 and 74 have 1" front spindles and rubber brake pedal. Non of the tractors that I have have a separate decal for the deck height adjustment knob. It should be able to be identified by the dash decal. Almost every year has either a different deck decal or dash decal.
ok so the info i have to date is,
kohler engine(not sure if it is a 241 or 301)
one pedal on the left
manual pto
deck height knob by the gear shifter
has a seat adjustment rod i think if that is what you call it
today i removed the engine from the tractor, pull the head and checked the bore..its a 10hp(k241)
im starting to think its a 1971 model
