    John Deere GT 235

Hey guys. Not sure if this is where I am to start this but I need some help. I have a gt 235. I know this site is targeted toward older tractors but thought maybe someone could help. The deal, it starts and runs fine for about .5 hour, then it wants to cut out like it is starving for gas. I have cleaned carb, replaced gas cap put new fuel line and filter on,Changed oil. I am not sure what the next step will be. It is a 18 horse Briggs Vtwin. If anyone has suggestions I will take it. The only thing I haven't done is replace fuel pump but not sure why that would be a problem if it starts and runs for a while. Thanks in advance for any help. Bob

When it stops running, have you checked the carb for gas? have you pull the spark plug and checked spark? Does it start right back up?

Vapor lock? I have that same model and am anxious to hear what you find so I know what to do when it happens to me.

I moved this to our Late Model forum, which is where we discussed the newer lawn and garden tractors. The Hydrostatic Drive forum is only for the tractors listed in the description.

I have not done that but can. If i push the choke up for a quick second it will stay running but then soon quit. if i leave it set for a little bit it will start back up but soon do it again. I thought it was the vapor lock but i replaced the gas cap with a new one.
