Low hour 318 and 50 cart

I am so excited to have gotten this. Story is he bought it new in 1989 for $5800+ tax. He got the dealer to throw in the Goodyear ag tires for the same price. He mowed his yard which took 2 hours a week for 2 months in the summer of 1989. He took a new job as a over the road truck driver and his wife agreed to mow the yard. His wife mowed with it one time and she almost turned it over mowing by the creek on their land. It scared her enough that she said she would not mow with it anymore. So they hired the neighbor to cut the grass. The tractor sat in heated and cooled basement with a quilt over it. The hours are mostly from him starting it and running it and running it for about 15 min every 2 weeks for the last 30 + years. The mower runs amazing.

The hour meter does work and is showing 218 hours. He told me it's the only time it has seen rain when it was sprinkling when I picked it up.

Everything the 86 year old man had was in amazing condition. He has a 1975 Ford 4600 industrial diesel tractor with loader that had 975 original hours and looked as good a the 318. So I believe it to be true. Unfortunately he could not find the paper work and manuals. I even helped in look in a storage room in the basement that had filling cabinets and boxes of papers. We did find the paper work and manuals for the Ford 4600 though. It was kinda cool to see them.

It only needs a few things. The insulation on the fire wall is not in good shape. It was falling off. The hydraulic couples needs new covers. They dry rotted. It needs a new gas cap. It is yellowed.

Better keep it in the basement with a quilt over it...given anything less it won't know what to do.
