    Your partly correct Gabby.
Early 400 does have a different setup. The tractor I was taking it from had a serial 193 something. I checked a few times looking at both machines and figured it should work.
I would think the tubing will need to be tweaked some, but I'm not worried about that now.
I need to get that valve to move, lol.
    Otherwise I'm sol, lol.

Any suggestions on freeing up those valves?

I tore three valves apart recently to see what they are made of. I think you will find issues in two areas. The 317 valve I tore apart had chrome peeling from the spools on the link end of spool. Peeling was in area of the oring. I felt this valve unworthy of putting it up for sale. Another place to check/clean is the area inside the caps on other end of spool. I soaked in parts cleaner and cleaned with a pick (318 H2 and the H3 valve I am installing. Hope you do not find chrome peeling issue. Spools cannot be replaced.

I had a bit more luck the last couple days.
Found a decent 48 deck that I can clean up for the 140.
    Also 2 xtra 12 rims.
Today i picked up a nice 48 inch replacement deck I can make fit my 318. Pretty good couple of days.

Got some work to get it working on the 318, but hopefully by the weekend.

With the replacement deck your 318 will cut just as well as a new machine. I have one on my 140 and it cuts just as well as my 445. Good find!

    Nice 140 you got there.
I'd read these decks cut pretty good. When I saw it yesterday on craigslist yesterday, I jumped on it. The guy told me today his phone blew up with people wanting it.
I got really lucky on this one.

Making a run to Illinois early July to deliver some parts. Going to look at a 332 while I am there. Taking the trailer. It may follow me home.

Found another 1963 110 #2752 with original fabricated deck and a #42 blade a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the original 7hp Kohler was replaced with a 10hp Tecumseh. I am looking for a Kohler K161 to put it back to original. I have since found the correct seat for it. Fortunately it still has the original hand laid fiberglass hood and fenders. The guy I bought it from got it from his sister because she was going to scrap it! Once I find the correct parts for it I will restore it.
