    Painting question:

as as I clean small bits is it okay to spray with a JD primer then rattle can paint green? Advice seems to say use a spray gun with hardner for the painting. Is that just for major parts or for everything?

Or I could just spray primer on everything for now and wait until I have my paint setup working then shoot it all with green. Thoughts?

I used Rustoleum automotive primer on the motor and small parts. Both rattle can Rustoleum and 2k polyurethane color and clear over that. The motor was done during the winter with cool shop temp. It all worked fine.

Buy the service manual on cd, print off the pages you need. When they get covered in oil or grease you can throw them out and print new pages. Get used to jdparts, you can price and order all available parts on line thru your dealer. That way there is no shock when you pick them up. I paint all small parts with spray cans and use jd paint with hardener to do the large parts.
