I have a 97 345 with the 18hp in it. Have always wanted a 54" deck (have the 48) to get the lawn cut faster. Might have found one I can trade up to get.

In the past I have also run my powerflow bagger, but this year due to the dry conditions(but primarily due to the fact my buddy that would take the clippings for his animals is no longer living near by) I have not been bagging.

Is the 54 about all the engine can handle? Will the powerflow push it over the edge? I like to cut at a pretty good pace.

Mike my first new Deere was a LX288 with 17hp twin Kawasaki in it. I had the dealer put a 54" deck on it right at new and that tractor never ran out of power. When you get in thicker and a bit taller grass, you will have to slow down but this time of year it wont be a problem at all.

I have a 97' 345 as well with the 54" deck (no powerflow)and 1150 hrs. It has never seemed anywhere near running out of power. Even when the grass is thick it just spits a thicker stream of grass out the deck. I have been nothing but impressed with this tractor. I think you will be happy with the 54".

While there is a thread going on this item, allow me to pose a couple of commonly asked questions concerning the heavy duty air cleaner kit. Are the round "bell" and rubber nipple still available through mother Deere using 317-400 part numbers? Also does anyone have the pattern or exact measurements needed for installation on the 110/112 hood support. As soon as I can get mine powder coated I will be ready to install on my '73 110.

Cody this is not my tractor but is one of my friends we did. I can't find the pictures of my tractor. We did mine first and I took a bunch of pics for documentation, but have put them in a good hiding place. This kit is an 317 canister and the closest aftermarket hoses I have been able to find. The upright and carb adapters are reproduction from original dimensions.
