I'm finally about to be able to start the engine rebuild. I was looking at the head section and noticed this bracket on the blower shroud. Any ideas what it's for? In looking at the parts catalog, the closest thing is M41829. But what does it hold?

I am pretty sure it is for a rope or lift strap. CA

Good question Stephen. I wondered that myself . I hope someone can shed some light on it.

It's under the hydraulic pump bracket so it have to be used early in manufacturing process. The clip from the parts catalog really doesn't look like it either.

It is a lift strap to help in pulling or installing engine. Several makes of engines had them.
