I recently picked up a non running 73 140H3.I have a good K321AQS out of a 314 but the oil dip stick is in a different place. Does any one know if the dip stick will interfere with the hood when closed?

I believe it will.
Is the dip stick taller than the spark plug?
Does the oil pan look the same?

I put a 16hp Kohler in a 72 140 a couple months ago, all you need to do is put the 140 cast pan on the engine from the 314 and it will bolt right in. The dip stick is not a problem. You may need to change the fitting that the muffler connects to.
