I have a 140 that use for plowing snow each year. This year I started it up to get ready for snow and the hydraulic blade is moving VERY slowly. It was working fine when I stopped using it last year. The fluid seems pretty milky. The tractor moves around just fine. It's only the attachments that seem to have a problem. Fluid level is fine and I don't see any leaks. Any idea what to try first? Thanks

If the fluid is "milky" that tells me you have water in there. Thats not good on any hyd.system.
Does it speed up after the tractor is warm? You might try and take the lines off of the hyd cylinder and purging them.See if that helps some.

Dan, get it nice and warm then drain the fluid and put in a new filter and JD low vis Hydard.

I got a 140 that wouldnt even MOVE for at least 30 seconds after starting when cold out there was so much moisture in the fluid!! New and it moved immediately.

Well I finally got back to this problem. Last night I drained the fluid, replaced the filter, and flushed the lines. The fluid was very milky and the filter had some white schmooz clogging it up. This tractor mostly sits in the garage all year until I need it for snow. Can this amount of moisture get in the oil just sitting around? I think this tractor had TYPE F trans fluid in it when I got it. I changed to lo-vis hyguard. Could this be a reaction between the TYPE F and the hyguard?

I have not hard of them reacting to each other

might want to get the hydro really hot to get the water to evaporate
