yep no way it'll go on a x749, You know anybody close by who has a 140 or even 317 that you could try the sleeve hitch on?

find out if it snaps on fine on a different tractor. The sleeve hitch is light and easy to take to a different tractor. Heck even look on FB for any that are for sale close by and ask if you could come and see if your Sleeve Hitch would just snap on to there's. would need to make sure that they have the lower Bolts that the sleeve hangs onto first though.

Here is a picture. The left side is seated and the pin is in. I am going to try to pull the top of the backplate to the rear as it appears to move forward with the hitch as I loosened all the mounting bolts. If I can can't the backplate top to the rear, it might help. If that doesn't work I may just get the grinder out and make some adjustments!

grind down the sleeve hitch till it fits.

Id have to look on my 69 140 and see if the rear end is bolted up like how yours is.

Pretty sure 68 and 69 are pretty close in how they are.

I looked threw my 69 thread and dont have a good pic of the rear push pin snap in location.

Today I shaved 1/8" inch off the hitch plate and elongated the backplate hole by 1/8" and it now latches. So, a little paint and I can reassemble! I don't think it is possible for this to have ever been right. Thanks for all the suggestions and input!
