[1968 JD 140]

I am way too cheap to spend almost $200 on a blank light bezel for my 140 so I am making one. I need to make the two sides so it will mount to the uprights but that is the easy part. I took the smashed up hood from a 116 that will be going to the bone yard after it is stripped and cut out this part. It is pretty close I think.

I'm surprised no one is 3D printing them. Maybe they are and I just haven't heard about it.

Once I get the hood patched up I will sand and finish fitting it. If I find some lights I may mount them to it too.

I have a blank 4 leg deere panel that need painted and a new sticker. I got it for 5$ with some early SF hood supposed at a tractor show.

If and when I can find one that is not priced out of this world I will pick one up. But for now this will have to do.

I just sold a nice blank 4 legged deer bezel a couple months ago for $75.

If you can find a paint remover that is gentle enough to not attack the plastic part, then you might get a result that just needs the Deere decal to be added at the badge location. I don't recall if those parts were just molded in black, or if they were also painted originally...

The part itself looks quite good mechanically -- good score for just $5 !!!

Well it is coming along. Here is a rough fit. Still need a lot of sanding and more glass work.
