140 mule drive

Had to rebuild my mule drive on my '69 140. The PO had welded washers trying to get rid of the slop but it was failing. The adjustment knob would not work. The weld had broke and now I don't know what position to reweld it. Also it looks like this mule drive came off a patio, once I started sand blasting it, it turned from black to white then metal. Any sketches or ideas on what position the bracket should be. Thanks for the help.
