I just spent a good part of the afternoon rebuilding the rear PTO on my 140-H3 after it exploded at the round stress plate. When it exploded I wondered why, as it wasn't under load.

The rear support that has the bearing retainers bolted on, I'm thinking there must be a collar that's missing between the bearing plate and the double pulley.

Can anyone confirm this with a drawing or picture?
Possibly even measurements of the shaft spacer would help if my assumptions are right. I might make something.

Thanks

I'd looked at a few period PTO's on eBay to see if I could determine the length. One collar "appeared" to sit right at the back of the pulley, to snug up-to the back face of the bearing. The length you mention tells me otherwise. That makes me wonder of there are different lengths with perhaps rear offsets to aid in pulley alignment to the tiller or other attachment being used.

Thanks Cliff!
