Hi all. Got a little start to my 140...thought Id post it here.
It was in pieces when I got it, and looked like this:

I tried to sell it like that, but had no takers...so I decided that it might make a good mowing machine at least, with the smaller deck, and that Id at least start working on it little by little.

Well, I got the wheels sanded down and painted, along with the front axle.
Lots to go, but here it is for now...

Arent those wheels purty?

Its a 71, and they are.
I already have just about everything I need to complete the resto...got the paint, all new decals...and some time here and there.

I do still need to get the foot pad material for the fenderdeck, and a couple new rubber fender deck mounts, and probably a few other things I dont yet know about!

Jim

Al Zimmerman might recognize your 140.
I got it from him.
Man that thing sure has been passed around for the good 140 that it is.

I don't know why it gets treated like the red headed step child.
It is a good running tractor.
And had you been able to sell it Jim it would be with yet another WFMer.

AJ, I dont know either. Rick said it was one of the best running Kohlers hes seen, and the carb has NO slop in it at all.
I imagine the engine will be good to go with a new head gasket alone.

I really wanted to sell it too, but as it is, if I get it done, I seriously doubt it will be going anywhere.
I dont like to put a lot of effort into something just to get rid of it.

Tim, thats primer. And it wont be that way for long...I plan to have it ready to push snow this Winter, but if it goes like my 49 resto did, it MAY be ready next year!

I thought about mentioning the 49 blower. lol
We used bed liner in the foot wells of Josh's 140. Turned out nice and is easy to apply. We have enough bed liner left to do all the tractors we'll ever own.

The tractor still needs more paint, but we're getting there.

Mike, is that the Hurculiner stuff?
I am going to use that on my 80 cart, inside the bed, and will most likely have a lot left.
How did you apply it?
I ask because the gallon (WAY too much) comes with the roller, but they also offer a quart, which doesnt come with anything...but I did see foam rollers in the paint dept.

It is Hurculiner. I messed around with a foam roller and a brush. I found just using the very end of the brush, bouncing it up and down worked better than the roller...and quicker.
The foot wells were pitted, can't tell now.
