i picked up a few john deere 318's today one was a older 1984 b43g it needed a coil and carb clean running fine now . my question is can i convert / upgrade to p218 coil the old coil points and condenser seems out dated .. i have a p218 coil just not sure how to convert over .

I’d leave it points. They really are easy and dependable.
