Hello does anyone know what the small keyed shaft on the upper side of a 77 400 rear end is for .I just finished restoring my 400 and noticed it when the tank was off.

Also does anyone have a rear weight recommended for snow plowing.

Thanks and happy holidays Mark

Thanks Jr.
Right now I have the 15 moldboard plow on the 3pt and a 4'
Length of railroad track approximately 200 lb total.
I will try to take a photo of that shaft to see if anyone can help.

Thanks David
Great idea on the wheel weights and thanks for Taking the time to post photos for me.
I also found out the shaft on the differential is the shifter shaft it is shown in my service manual.
Now if someone can send some snow I'd appreciate it.

Thanks all and happy holidays
Mark
