Dbauman you need the numbers before the serial number not the serial number. The numbers before are the model number. A picture would also do it. If it is a RF deck it won't work on a 300. Roger
I asked this question on the repair forum with no replies so hope you don,t mind me asking here...if so I,ll delete.....I have a 317 that the coil puked out. I installed a Harley coil but messed up and left key on and it crapped. Has any one else used a GM coil or Harley coil? Should I be using a ballast resistor with the set up? Thank you. John

Better You than me Plowing snow. I had a Life time of it Living close to Buffalo, New York but since I Moved to Knoxville, Tennessee i have only had to Plow snow Once and I do Not miss that chore or the Six Month's of winter snow and Deep Cold that New York is Famous for.... Regards, Kurt
Where did you live near Buffalo? I've been eying up Tennessee since I visited Chattanooga a few years ago.
I'd just have to build an outbuilding with Air-conditioning if I moved down that way.

Can't believe you guys got that much out Syracuse way. Just got a dusting here in Rochester.
Can someone explain to me why it took the Iowa Alvin Straight guy 6 weeks to drive a JD 110 tractor 240 miles to his dying brothers house? (The Straight Story)
Even at 5 mph it should have only taken 48 hours.
Did he drive just 5 mile per day?
JDF the tractor broke several times on the way when he did the drive. He wasted time waiting for parts and getting it fixed. He mostly drove gravel back roads and he did sleep some. I think he also had some money problems and relied on donations. I know in the movie he had a 110 but real life he had a junk garden tractor which at least once blew the engine up. Roger
Roger, On the show "Mysteries At The Museum", they told the story of the famous 1966 John Deere 110 tractor used by Alvin to drive the 240 miles and it is show cased at the Pocahontis County museum in Laurens,Iowa.
According to this truth based show, it is indeed a JD110.
From what I found when I researched the movie years ago a rhedds is a fictional mower made up for the movie. Later found it resembles a small red international riding mower can't remember the model number

I have a 1968 John Deere 112 with a Tucumseh engine model HH100-11093B. I need a starter for this engine and can't seem to find one anywhere. Anyone have an idea where I might get one?
Robert first welcome to WFM. The original 1968 starters are NLA and haven't been available for years. The starters from later HH100s should interchange. I have had one on a couple of tractors for 5 plus years. The place I have bought them from is called DB Electrical www.dbelectrical.com. Their phone number is 1-800-753-2242. Roger
