I have two deck wheels that have really bad bearing on my 455 w/60" deck. I don't have the deck ID, but it is the first version, with the metal belt guards. They wheels are the two big ones, about 8" dia. Looking on JD parts I couldn't find a wheel part illustration, just the deck, spindles etc. They have roller bearing with a bore over 1/2". But the bolts are only 1/2 and don't appear to be worn. I'm thinking there was a sleeve, or inner race at one point that is worn and gone. I'm not the first owner and the previous ones 'neglected' a lot of maintenance.
Anyone with some insight? or a link to a parts breakdown?

The battery which came with the 212 when I bought is: Motocraft BXT-59-540 Cold cranking amps: 540 MJ. It looks like it is dying - nor retaining charge if left for 1 week in the fall weather! Even trickle charger is not helping in the cold weather and want to replace it. Its about 9.5" x 7.5" (L X W) and about 6" deep. Any suggestions on proven make/mode? Appreciate help guys.

I have a Walmart 26R in my 214 and it has lived there since 2004. I used the tractor yesterday to mulch and mow leaves. It was Walmart's mid level battery and was made Johnson Controls in Milwaukee WI. If it dies tomorrow it owes me nothing. Roger

I run a 26r in my 112 also. I think mine came from Kmart, but any decent brand should last quite a while in our application. Next one will probably ba an AC Delco, because I get a good deal on them at work.

Someone told me here years ago to use a regular automotive battery with as many cold crank amps as possible rather than the 'tractor' batteries that are out there.

I've always used the cheapo tractor batteries . I only get 3-4 years out of them ......if I don't do anything stupid . I've left the key on for three days , the charging system failed w/out my knowledge . Yea , the batteries were ruined , but at least I destroyed a $30 battery rather than a $100 one .

I pay $59 for 26/26r batteries at my local battery store. 530cca.

I have tried the smaller batteries, but they are useless in the winter, even the 375cca ones
