On my 240 I have been working on, I just finished rebuilding the mower deck and backed the mower out of the shed to bolt the deck on and found a huge puddle under it and oil blown all over my shed. It is the crankshaft seal. Does anybody know what I am going to have to do to replace this seal? Do I need to pull the motor?

Went out to get the final cut of the season done and get my 212 ready for blowing snow and found that after a bit of running (heated up), the engine would start to seriously miss, buck, lurch, shake under load. When I disengaged the PTO on level ground it would smooth out and be okay. With the PTO off and going up hill, same problem. After I let the machine cool down it was fine until it heated back up.
In reading the archives, I get the impression that this is most likely a coil/condensor/points problem. I'm getting ready to order the parts mentioned from the JD dealer in town. but I figured I would do a sanity check beforehand. Am I chasing the right squirrel?
Also, does anyone have the NAPA numbers for the parts listed?
