I recently bought a 2002 LX266 in excellent shape with 100 hrs on it. I found a snow thrower for it locally with chains and weights for 475 in good shape. What are your thoughts on using this model tractor for snow duties? I get quite a bit of snow in my area, over 100 inches is not uncommon here. Am I asking to much out of this machine if I get into blowing snow with it?

I owned a 318 for a while with a 49 thrower, will I even get close to that when it comes to blowing the snow?

Thanks,

Steve

I've got an LX178 (Kawaskai twin, 15 HP)that does a very good job of handling snow...and here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula we've been known to get a wee bit more than you do. Single stage blower works well, trick is to keep pushing it into the snow, seems the more the better. I would think that would handle your snow problems quite easy.
Going to play with a couple more this year, just got a 214,also a single stage blower and a Case 444, 14 HP single Kohler which should be a real beast!

My 216 has an intermittent starting issue..sometimes when I try and start it, the motor barely turns over or tries but wont.. then I'll come back an hour later and it cranks normally and fires up. I've swapped batteries and get the same issue. This has been happening for about 4 months..Even after running for a while it may act up again. Could this be the compression release failing? thanks Guys.
