Did a repair on 425 transmission and when I put it back together, the differential lock stays in lock all the time! Any ideas?

The Parking brake is the only thing I can think of that would keep the locker engaged . Is there possibility that parking brake linkage got catey-whoompus in the transaction , and is somehow not letting the locker neutralize ? Just thinking ...
