I have a 76 300 with kohler 16. Where does the negative battery cable go to? Engine or frame?

One of the white hinge mounts broke loose from the hood.Would like to re-weld it but need to know what material the hood is made of,there are different epoxys for different materials.Thanks

I would try JB Weld the older slow drying kind and let it dry a couple of days. To be honest the new plastics JD is using don't seem to be very fixable. Welcome to WFM. Roger

Hi James I have a 445 and the mounts broke loose on mine as well. I am going to drill through the spot where the mount was and put a carriage bolt from the outside in. I will either use the old mount or a few washers to space the hood like it needs on the inside, you will see the tops of the bolts but it is much cheaper than a new hood...around 350.00

David, that is the way my father's 445 is fixed. There was some glue on the back side as well but used the carriage bolts. Way too much for us to spend for a new one.

Adam I'm glad to hear someone else did this, I don't think the top of the bolts will look bad I guess I am cheap.
