Hi All,

I have a 314 that I re fit the seat switch on. I added the wiring where it had been by passed and all wiring is as it should be according to the wiring diagram.
I thought that you had to be in the seat to start the tractor. Well, this thing will start without any weight on the seat. Since it goes through the PTO switch, I thought the PTO switch was bad.
Went out to mow with it and found that the seat switch does work with the PTO switch on and mowing.
Just wondering if this is the way it should work on the 314, 316K's and 317's which were all made in the same time period.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
Your switches are working as designed. The solenoid current does not pass through the seat safety switch--only through the pto switch on the dash and the hydro neutral micro switch.

Harold,

Thanks for the info. I'd always heard that you had to have weight on the seat. It was weird, I went to shift in the seat and the engine tried to die. I was thinking, OH C*** what now, until I realized what it was. The tractor didn't have one, so I didn't know what to expect. Now I do.
