Ok,,,, "Dumb" question only because crs is creeping in and i forgot !! How many quarts of oil does my b43 16 hp onan take? yep, sight is going mind is loades with to much useles info now im forgeting the importaint stuff. Help!! No comments from the peanut gallery please.

my 420 takes a little bit over 2 qts

My 318 (18 HP) with filter takes a little less than 2 quarts (1 3/4)

if you have the B 43E 16 H.P.
engine and DO NOT have an oil filter
your engine should take 1.5 qts.

Thank you Boomer. Yes it has no oil filter, I put 2 quarts in it,,, I noticed its running quiter now, probably should drain a little . thanks.

B43G, B48G, P218G, & P220G engines is: 1.5 U.S. Qt. without filter, 1.75 U.S. Qt. - with new filter].

Thanks Bobo. maybe I should dump the 1/2 quart. Was thinking of leaving it because she puffs now and then but maybe not ?

I would dump it out as leaving it in may cause a crankshaft seal to leak. Regards, Kurt
