Pick up a 1981 317, w/ kwik way loader. Sat outside for 2 years with the engine covers off. Cleaned it up today and replaced the battery cables. Have a good battery in it now and just the headlight works.

What a good check list for me to trouble shoot ?

I had a similar problem with my 317 a few years ago, it was a bad circuit breaker, give it a tap with a small screw driver and see if that helps. Its # 14 on the diagram, part # AM3361.

It could also be your neutral safety witch or starter.

And just a thought here, but i have seen PTO switches installed upside down so that off is in the up position and not the down, which could cause the same problem.
