I found this pic on Craigslist on an ad selling a shed. Ad says they're moving and want to sell the shed, but I spotted the Deere and thought maybe they'd want to get rid of it too. I've sent an email but haven't heard back. I thought maybe the experts here could positively ID it for me.

I think it is a 317 or 318 as you can see the orange hydro control knob and 2 hydraulic lift levers. I have a 318 and in the pic with the grill missing you can see the muffler where it would be on a 318. What throws me is the open ended side panel. What do you think?

Looks like a 317, the decals wrap around the front corners of the hood at the headlight lens, and the rear fenders are more rounded. But the right side panel, left in the picture is open in the front like a 300 though.

Some of the 316K did have two spools. It may have been an option.

Did the 316k have 2 spools of hydraulics?

Hello Morgan
The early version 316 with the single cylinder Kohler had Dual spool Hydraulics. When they started Placing the twin cylinder Onan's in them they dropped to the single spool Hydraulics. I hope this help's, Kurt}

Thanks for all the info guys. The seller finally got back to me and he's not selling the tractor. I did to get any info on what model it is, but I'm sure it's a 300 or 316k from all I read here.

What an awesome place! Thanks again.
