Not sure about ALL 322s, but mine is just a press-fit griil...no spring or tab.

This is the spring clip -- when they fit really tight, you can take a small rod or a Phillips driver and reach in to that hole and pry down slightly to release it...mostly it is just a friction fit.

If 317 is same tab, that means the 200 series and other closed frame tractor grills are options?I think in the past, I have used one from a otherwise mostly junk grill to replace a broken or missing clip on a otherwise good grill. The clips are riveted on. I might have replaced the rivets with small bolts, and then ground the head of the bolt flatter for clearance. The 317 grills use the same tab.
Thank you. I didn't realize the latch was even a separate part. That is a bit pricey, but compared to buying a new grill....M85415 - Latch - $33 - ouch!
