i have a 318 with the p-motor. it has been sitting for 2 year bad flywheel,intake. it was geting hard to start the silonode was kicking in but the starter was not ingauging. i have replaced the flywheel,stater,intakeand a new starter can any one help. it is getting closer to being a boat anchor by the day. ha ha ha

Welcome to the WFM forum! Your 318 is worth setting straight, so try the following:

Start by replacing the ignition switch...and inspect the mating connector for signs of corrosion and/or heat damage. You should see some improvement in the starter engaging just by replacing the switch, but you should also consider installing the starter improvement kit. Do a search on this site and you will find quite a bit of information...here is a typical thread:

i replaced the switch it had two bad posts but no fix. replaced the breaker nothing then checked the fuse and dont ya know there was the problem a 10cent part that i spent $33.00 to find. I should have just slowed down to think. it runs just like a new one. Thanyou for your help. THIS PLACE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN TRYING TO TALK TO A JOHN DEERE DEALER SOME TIMES AROUND HERE THY JUST WANT THEM TO COME TO THE SHOP.
