On a 318 do I have to remove the rear end to replace the side seals? I believe they are referred to as trunion seal on the side where the hydro lever controls. The one on the left I might be able to replace without removing, but the right side looks very tight as the shaft is longer.

Socket and prybar against the frame. There is an existing washer just outside the seal. Use that between the seal and the socket to protect the seal. On the right hand side a deep socket is required.

I got one of the seals in the mail today proceeded to install it on the left side, and dented the new seal trying to tap it in. So now I have to remove the trans. Anyone know of a video? Sounds like lining the trans back up to the frame is a pain.
