Hello Folks,
I've been having a very hard time with my PTO, for the second time I put a new PTO clutch and it's getting eaten by the rotor and for the life of me I can't find out was causing it ... here's what the first one looks like ...

Can anyone figure out what's causing it?
Thanks,
Henry.

Hi Chuck,
I can see that for the first clutch which there was a little play when I wiggle the clutch plate but I just replaced with another one (granted it was used) but there's no play on this one. When I engage the clutch and let it run for a couple of minutes I can smell something burning...maybe I'm too paranoid and don't let it run longer to see if smokes but I want to see what else could wrong ... is there a spacer between the rotor and the coil? The drawings don't show but just in case, has anybody ever seen anything like this?
Thank you so much, I really need my tractor to cut the grass again ...

Hello Folks,
I followed George's advice and I put a washer in between the crankshaft and the rotor and that seemed to have fixed my problem. I was able to mow for about 1/2 hr. before the rain came without any smoke. I used the same washer as # 10 as in picture above. Hopefully the issue is fixed for good. Thanks guys!

Sorry, the # 10 is not a washer it's the snap ring retainer, anyway mine did have a washer in front of the bolt so that's what I used in front of the rotor.

I recently replaced my Onan B43E with a GX630 Honda.
Had to use a 1 7/16" bushing. In order to get the right place for the rotor I actually welded the rotor (carefully) to the bushing. If I could have found a spacer or a washer the right size to do the job that would have worked too.
