I am working on putting a small set of rear work lights on my 318. They will be able to swivel so they can point off the back of the tractor or towards the front. My question right now is, has anyone ever used a 3 position light switch for this? It sounds like a good idea in my head. Switch in will be all lights off, switch in the middle will be headlights and tail lights on and switch all the way out will be all lights on. The small work lights are LED and draw about 1.5 amps for the pair. I plan on mounting the lights on a piece of flat stock steel that will mount to the seat spring bolts and will follow the curvature of the fender pan.

You can always leave the stock switch in and have a local switch down at the light too.

I have a set of flashers on my 318 during the summer and high beam cab lights (LED) during the winter. I ran a separate power feed from the battery with a switch in the rear PTO location since I don't have a rear pto. I really like this setup so I can use that power feed any time I want for anything.

Jeremy, That 3 position switch you are contemplating for your 318, I used on a Allis Chalmers 917H for a rear work light on that machine and worked perfectly and changing the knob for the original it looked stock, I would do the same to my 318 to operate the snow cab lights when I add them,

I got my rear work lights put on the 318 last night. These things are bright. I skipped the flat iron mount I was thinking about and went with a magnetic mount. The magnets are 105 lb pull neodymium. I can point the lights forward as well. I decided to use the tail light harness since you can't see the tail lights anyway with the lights on. The LEDs draw very little current. I tested at an idle with the PTO running and the battery light doesn't come on.

The lights came from Amazon. They are a 10 watt flood light. They are well built as the housing is all cast aluminum and they are waterproof. The magnets and magnet covers came from Zoro Tools. They have a large variety of everything and their prices are good. The lights can easy be moved and stuck to the side panels on the front for winter snow removal. There are a lot of options with this setup. You can put 1 light in the center of the fender deck and stick the other to your 3 pt implement.
