JD318 with Onan B43G
The starter was replaced a few years ago in addition to supplementing with the starter improvement relay that is oft recommended by the 318 enthusiast community.
Everything was fine, but since the cold Fall weather hit (in Michigan) the starter will continue to run for 5 - 10 seconds even if the key is turned counterclockwise to the off position and pulled out. I am worried that if this worsens my starter is going to burn out, and possibly chip teeth on the flex plate when the engine fires up and it is still engaged.
I am thinking a solenoid or brain box issue. What do you think?
