Welcome to the forum. Lots of things could have happened when you ran out of gas. Any of the fuel lines could have gotten plugged or depending on the type of fuel filter, debris could have flowed into the carburetor it could still be plugged even though you cleaned it.
Is there a fuel filter in the fuel line? Some filters are nothing more than a screen that can let lots of garbage through and some filters are paper filters with very small openings. Always use the best fuel filter you can.
Why did you change the fuel pump and what type is it, vacuum operated or electric? Did you test fuel flow after you changed the pump?
When you cleaned the carb, did you remove the bolt on the lower left side (looking from rear of tractor) and remove the high idle jet located in the bottom of the fuel bowl?
How about when you removed the top of the carb, did you make sure all the holes in the long pickup tube attached to the top of the carb are clean?
