When I installed my rear pto I followed the John Deere instructions and added 8 oz of 80W-90 GL-5 gear oil to the gear box. I was reading TM1594 (31OCT95) today and in the section on the rear pto it says to put 32 oz (1 qt) in the gear box. Anyone have more than 8 oz in theirs?

8-10 oz.'s , or level to the oil fill opening is what they take . We've had this discussion before . They won't even hold near a full quart even if you filled it to the very top . Don't know why the discrepancy in TM1594 .
