I purchased a 335 last fall that has been repowered with a B&S Intek from SEW. It does not charge the battery. The idiot lights on the dash do not work either. Looking for a wiring diagram that should have come with it but not sure since the person I talked to at SEW had no clue and suggested I call B&S. What a total waste of time that call was. Anybody done one of these repower jobs? Not sure where to go from here.

I found the regulator. The alternator is feeding it but there is no output so I guess I start by replacing that. The output is spliced into a switched wire that appears to go to a starting relay. Not the most direct route back to the battery. I'm thinking of taking it directly to the battery side of the starter, similar to the original JD wiring diagram. The JD diagram shows a fusible link. Anybody have any ideas what sort of fuse I should put in there? According to what I can find out from B&S, the alternator puts out 10 amps. After a very brief email exchange with SEW, it appears that only the original purchaser is worthy of their tech support. Nice.

Thanks for the confirmation. I ordered a new regulator, should be here sometime this week. Hopefully takes care of it. Still wondering if it needs to connect to a switched wire, or should it go directly to the starter. I've read where some regulators will drain the battery eventually, but the JD wiring diagram shows it going directly to the starter post.

Roger, I would hope that it had one in it, but they may have saved a few cents by leaving it out. Since the new one arrived in the mail today, I may try to bust out the epoxy in the old one and take a look. I think I will move it over to the starter post anyway with an inline fuse since there doesn't appear to be a fusible link there anymore and see what happens.
