How do you tighten the chain on a 36 snow blower and how tight do you tighten it?

I think the chain has about 1/8 to 1/4 of a inch play. I think you loosen bolts on the counter shaft and move it to set the tension. On badly worn gears you can take a link out and add a 1/2 link in the chain to get the tension right.

There is slots in the mount plate for one of the idler sprockets, however it's kind of a pain to adjust. See key 24 in attatchment
