Hello all

I was wondering if anyone has utilized the spool that is usually used for the deck lift/3point hitch has utilized it for the deflected chute angle? I was thinking of putting some quick change couplings so it can be switched. I no longer use the 400 for mowing so it is useless for me, but I don't want to completely remove it.

Thanks

Tim

I think the reason it's not done too often is that when you add it all up, it can usually be done more cheaply with an electric linear actuator version.

Were you thinking you would pirate the rock shaft cylinder and move it up to the chute deflector?

I was thinking a steering cylinder and leaving the other in place with quick connect couplings. The rocker shaft cylinder is a bit large in diameter. Also there shouldn't be to much force so that cylinder would be over kill.

I used a lift cylinder from a 345 to separate my 3 point hitch and mower deck lift. I think the cylinder was $30 or so on Ebay because of a seemingly really specific application. I looked at it to be a nifty little cylinder with more possibilities if I was willing to modify the rod end.

I'm going electric on my 430. I don't plan any holes in the body, and I'm looking at $100-$125.

You could always rig a control cable to the lift arms for the deck, and probably get even lower cost.
