Anyone run their 400 with a new driveshaft with no fan on it?? Reason I ask is one of my fins on my fan broke off so to keep the shaft spinning true as to not blow the shaft seal we ground the fan off. I think I have seen guys run without one on here, but I can't remember. My buddy also said something about there being an old Cub or Bolens in the 70s that had a clamp on fan. What do u guys think??

I would say it depends on the condition you are using it in. It does have a hydro oil cooler which is using air flow from the engine. There are also no fins on the hydro pump to dissipate heat so the air moving across the hydro in not very efficient. It is your call but I wouldn't worry a lot about it. I do know of people that are running them without the fan.
