Hello guys,

I just replaced starter and flywheel on it and it started and ran very good for a day, but now
my 220 onan is surging up and down regardless of where the throttle is set. If I pull choke out about half way it will smooth out and sound good. With the mower engaged I can push the choke back in and it will remain steady, but when the mower is off it will rev up and down again until I pull throttle back out. I checked plugs, they are very black. Checked compression 120 and 110. Air filter is new. Is it the carb and if so, is there an easy fix without taking the whole thing apart? Thanks everybody.

I've had surging problems a couple of times with my B48G (420). Took the top off the carb, pull the jet, clean it & put it back together. Has worked so far! ~~ Lowell
