Im bringing this up again. I got this above picture fixed. The pump works well, BUT!!!, here's the story
I put the pump back together, new roller bearings, new seal, and I put new universals, and the new heavy duty end on the shaft . I put everything together, and it ran like a charm I've mowed the lawn like 4 times, (acre) lot , Today i was admiring my tractor after putting a new regulator in it , and walked around to the back and under it was more hydro oil. The leak is back! Now I'm scratching my head at what to do next. Ive put a want ad in the classifieds to see is a new rear end is possible.
ANy one have any ideas as to what is going on , I'm puzzled.

Gary , I think thats what I'm looking at , and the tech manual , well it makes it look like quite a challenge to replace it .
And to answer your question, yes thats where its coming from the seal is the second one i've installed.and i've replaced the needle bearings right behind the seal. Any Idea's? I'm out of em!!
and I'm bummed........

I'm going through the thinking process here. How hard is it to change out the hydro pump on the 420 , versus trying to replace the shaft?
Or after what Iv'e done so far , is there something I've forgotten???, or that I'm missing, that is causing this re-occuring oil leak at the charge pump seal ???

Well I got a heck on a deal on 2 SX95 mowers with one 38" deck. Going to start making one out of two. Well the better one has a battery in it and clicks when you turn the key. i have power to the solenoid and to the carb switch. the fuses are good and the engine is not locked up (ran last year). I have charged the battery, redone the ground and connections.

My fear is that I am chasing another safety switch issue. can anyone send me a manual for this beast or give me some pointers? i think the SX95 are somewhat the same as the 85 and 75 just different engines.

thanks guys!

Just because you put a charger on the battery dosn't mean it is good. Batteries are not worth a hoot anymore. Try putting a known good battery in it before you spend too much money on other things.

Just my thoughts, Steve
