Couple questions pertaining to fender deck installation. Are the rear holes just bolted to the frame standoffs or are isolation mounts used? Is foam used between the deck and gas tank? Are rear taillight wires routed over the tank, or to the side? Don't want to remove this after it's on, so any tips will help.

I can only speak for mine now since I didn't but it new. My fender pan is bolted in the rear to the frame (no insulators) and in the front with steel sleeves and to the frame. There is no foam on the gas tank and Yes, the taillight wires are routed over the tank.

I think only the diesels had rubber isolators (330/332/430 and maybe the gas 322). The height of the mounting post is higher comparing a 420 frame to a 430 frame for the back fender pan. You could add isolators with the rear hydro kit from JD.

I put 430 isolators on my 420 and they work just fine. I turned them upside down so the stud would stick up through the fender deck and then use a nut to secure the fender deck. The only issue is a lack of clearance when sliding the fender deck under the hyd levers.

I do have the rear hydraulic outlets, so are the isolators neccessary and do I need them at the front also? Maybe a few rubber fender washers at the rear will suffice. Not sure if clearance issues arise with the 420 and rear hydraulics, utilizing the stock mounting components. Thanks for bearing with me, 3 years has almost paid off as I have a hood, decals, and fender deck to complete this girl. And she'll be sporting a fully revived Onan, as opposed to something new and cute. Just love the sound and power of these.

Thanks Ron. I'm using the factory bracket as well. Is the tight clearance on the side or the top? Maybe I'll use a couple hard rubber bushings, around a 1/2" thick on the rear, to bump up the back.

Get the rubber isolators as it will make it a little easier if you are concerned. You can have the rear outlets and not raise the back-just a little less clearance to do things is all.

Now for the fronts. I still have the original steel sleeve bushings. The parts catalog shows a nut being used, but I am able to use an 8mm clip nut on the frame. Is it a nut and bolt or a clip nut and bolt?
