With onan on the bench, the front pto seems a bit stiff. Its gapped at .018". Where should I start with this issue?

Lee,

The pulley is not supposed to turn when the PTO is disengaged as it has an integral braking function (lawyer endorsed...) When the PTO is engaged, it should be mechanically connected to the crankshaft, so it should not turn then either if the engine is not running.

What exactly did you mean by "stiff"...??

No worries Lee -- we all learn things from a first-time experience or asking a question. The trick is to not forget them later as we get busy (or in my case just older...)
