Installed the hood, but I'm not getting proper alignment with the hood latch and frame latch. Believe I have the linkage correct (small bars towards front of tractor, longer bars behind)small linkage bars have pivot point towards front of hood and longer linkage bars have pivot point towards rear of hood. Not sure what variables I have to play with, but I've got it close. I think the linkage brackets on the grill support are all forward and the brackets connected to the hood are slid forward in the slots. Not sure if the grill support articulates forward or I need to play with the latch connected to the frame, or possibly modify my own latch for the hood. The hood does seat down, articulate, and stop forward as I believe it should so the linkage has to be correct. Cannot find a picture in the manual or anywhere else to verify this though. One of the last tasks before the decals go on.

Alex,
Not sure what tractor you are working on. you can loosen the front upright grill section and move/tilt it to and fro to get a little adjustment too.

I just readjusted my 420's hood and it was not as easy as I suspected at first

The final key was in loosening the bolts that hold the hinge rods to the hood and grill support.

They have to be at the right angle or the hinge rods bind throwing off the hood.

I removed the grill then I loosened mine slightly allowing them to move with a bit of force. closed the hood and then aligned the hood where I wanted it then tightened the hinge bolts underneath through the grill opening.

Would it be possible to get an image of the linkage on the underside of the hood, just to verify the orientation of mine. I spent quite a bit of time tonight, but I'm suspecting the rods were tweaked somehow by the previous owner or the hood go whacked and I wound up with a replacement hood and the same hinges.

Thanks John. Managed to find a used set with clamps and they should be here by Tuesday. The brackets had bent ears and the short rods are not quite equal, as though they've been bent around.
