I have a b48g. Oil is leaking from near the oil dip stick tube. How is this tube held in? Does it screw? Do they leak?

I've got a 420 , looking at the JD parts site they show it already connected to the block. How ever , and i hope some one chimes in to either confirm or deny my thoughts, I believe that tube actually just friction fits into the block. Sorry I can't be of better help

the tube is a friction fit,but comes out pretty easily. mine leaked a little there too. i put a o-ring on it and pushed it down tight while tightening it up...it seemed to work. hope this helps

B series engine tubes are just press fit into the oil pan with no seal. I would take it out clean both parts good and apply sealer to it and press it back in.
