My 1992 420 recently developed symptom of running somewhat rough/miss to it when front pto is engaged to mow.Hit the pto switch off and it then clears up, pto coil seemed to check out o.k. at 3.6 ohms.Looking for thoughts on what to check from there ?

My LX176 just did this. I replaced the pto clutch and the problem was solved.

Check the clutch cap-should be .018 volts. Mine acted like this when the gap was getting to big.
