Looking to replace the electrical connector that the glow plug module fits into. The connector is (5) pin. Deere no longer carries the original connector but does have a generic (5) pin connector that accommodates the glow plug control module. This application however does not allow the insertion of the pins into the bottom of the connector. The pin passages are too narrow for the width of the pins on the original wiring. Any help would be appreciated.

David,
I work at John Deere in parts (Hagerstown, MD) I've also rewired a 332 diesel from scratch so anyhow the part you need is AM108843. It's suggested list price is $24.06 there are plenty available. If your closest dealer cant get it I can so let me know.

Btw in parts a really good machine to find information and part numbers for harness/electrical parts is an F935 front mower in the harness section.

Thanks so much. I just spoke to the Deere part guy today. He was not that familiar with the connector I was looking for even after he tried to look it up. The one he gave me was for a different application. I will see him tomorrow and give him the correct part number. Thanks for the info on the F935. I started to look there. Funny I looked every other place but there. Thanks Michael, I'll let you know if I was successful with them!

Michael, I ordered the connector from Finch Services (Westminster, Md.) that you told me about and should have it by Tue. next week. Thanks for your help and pointing me to another resource otherwise I would still be trying to find the appropriate connector. The members on this forum have been fantastic in helping one another. I have learned quite a lot! Thanks.

David,
John Deere puts NLA on allot of parts that are available with other machines in the parts catalog, not sure why. Another thing that they should have access to at Finch's is an application for Deere parts guys called parts expert which can provide allot of information on a part by just inputting the part number. In some cases there are several pages of information for example relay's have two pages containing voltage info amp rating housing style and price.

Michael,
I hear you. I am not sure why this parts guys is not aware of this process. What you have just described is something I would normally think would be within his range of ability to be able to accomplish for a customer. ?????? I try to do my own research through their online parts catalog which is limiting, time consuming and frustrating. They (Deere) certainly have a better, more robust way of reconciling parts from various machines that are compatible. Thanks for that info. Just not sure why this process is not employed where I buy parts. I may have to if you do not mind, e-mail you when I have a question about parts availability for my 430. My e-mail is [email protected].
