Hey Gang,
I need to tap into the experience of this fine group.....I was doing a little loader work this evening and when I went from rev. to forward I got a nasty vibration....now it wasn't the smoothest transition, bit of a jerk, but not terrible....It seems to be from the hydro pump (just my guess) the vibration is the same if the drive lever is in slow forward, slow backward, or neut/park. The vibes reduced a bit when I drove forward and backward at medium speed ( just went about 15'in each direction) I put the transmission into low, high and neut with no changes....Fluid level is fine, mid sight tube........Tractor has been working great, so no warning signs that I noticed........
So, have any opinions?
Thanks for your time, Ben in MN

Just tore engine down to replace upper crank bearing, and it has a plastic cam gear. So my question , Do you have to replace oil pump, water pump gears if they are in as new shape when replacing cam with a steel gear. Thanks Don

I don't think plastic cams on the vertical engines were a problem like the cams in horizontal engines like the 425 has. The service manager at the dealer I use said he thought that is because of the cam gears location in the bottom of the engine it is basically always bathed in oil which is not the case in the horizontal engines. I have the same engine tractor combo and today it just turned over 1132 hours blowing snow and still doesn't use any oil. Roger
