Engine will not take load. Starts runs under light load then as load increases stumbles drops from full throttle to rough idle often stalling. Will sometimes go from very rough idle to normalize but will not take load. Relaced fuel pump after it failed & fuel filter . bled all lines and filter. Wil start idle roughly but won't take load 1888 hours on mtr. thoughts suggestions Thanks

sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Did something get stuck in the line, needle, seat, or float? Maybe the line is collapsing. I've seen old lines turn to Goo and not let enough fuel thru.

I think Dominic might have missed that it was a 430.

Carleton,

Did your problems start after you changed the pump? Was it running good before? More than likely a fuel problem, but can always be compression problem--especially if it got hot. Hopefully you have a hole in your pickup tube, or you didn't get it bled correctly. Do you have any other background info that might help diagnose it? Have you run it with the fuel cap cracked to make sure its not causing a vacuum/not venting?

check fuel flow first from pump and also make sure it can pump to the jar raised 2 feet up

keep hose submerged to see if any air is being pumped too and if there are any bubbles drain tank and check the suction hose inside
