The clutch on my new 430 wont close to the .018 air gap when I get close the compression ring is so tight the unit wont rotate. When checking every thing on the bench I get a gap of .110 when placing a straight edge on the shaft bearing between it and the contact surface, and I get a gap of .075 when I place both contact surfaces together with out springs or compression ring. Both of these seam large to me. Where and what do I do know, I don't want to start moving things till I know how and when Thanks Brian

Brian, I'm not sure what you mean but when you get adjusted to 0.018, the braking cover should not allow you to (easily) spin the pulley. I'll try to post cross section and maybe that will help.
