Looking at buying a 430 with a front mount snowblower. The biggest problem I'm having is figuring out the year. There is no serial # on the tractor. Serial # on the yanmar motor is ch30290009389, serial # on 47" snowblower is 323001, model 2753X575383

There is no hour meter on the dash. Couldn't find one anywhere. Is this common?

Snowblower and tractor frame aren't rusty so I'm thinking it hasn't been used much. However due to no hour meter and no serial # I can't figure out a value. Any suggestions on possible value and how to figure out year. thx.

Tractor comes with blower, cab, wts.,chain. thx. much.

Wrong forum. The Late Model Forum is for equipment built after 1992 - a 430 was made before 1992. Please repost in either the Vintage Forum or the Restoration & Repair Forums. I'll delete this thread in a couple of days to give you time to repost in the proper forum. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know the year so wasnt' sure where to post. The owner said it was a 97 and looks new enough for that. Will repost

The 430 was made from 1984 to 1992 - in 1997 JD was making the 425, 445, and 455 garden tractors. The 430 was the diesel version of the 420.

Crawl up under the rear end. There should be a serial number plate in plain view on the left rear axle

Todd, I lied to ya. My 430 was stolen and they chiseled that tag off so I assumed it was the serial number. i don't know what it is but it isn't the serial number.
